Everything you need to pitch, track and get paid for your first brand deal

The First Deal Toolkit is the set of tools I wish I'd had when I started pitching brands eight years ago. It shows you who to pitch, what to write in the subject line, what to offer, and how to keep track of every conversation until the invoice is paid.

  • A deal tracker that sets your follow-up dates for you
  • 30 brands to pitch, with their email addresses
  • An agreement and an invoice that fill themselves in

why I made this

Being on camera was never the hard part for me

When I started pitching brands, the filming was the part I enjoyed. What slowed me down was everything around it. I didn't know which brands were actually paying creators, my pitches went out with subject lines nobody opened, and the conversations I did start got lost somewhere between my inbox and my notes app.

Then, when a brand finally said yes, I was writing agreements and invoices from scratch at the kitchen table and guessing what to charge. This toolkit puts the answer to each of those problems in one place.

Not knowing who to pitch

The toolkit gives you 30 brands that work with UGC creators, each with an email address to pitch, so your first list is ready today.

Losing track of conversations

The deal tracker holds every brand you pitch, works out your follow-up dates for you, and shows what you've earned so far.

Paperwork from scratch

You type your details in once, and the toolkit writes a clear agreement and a professional invoice that are ready to send.

good to know

What the toolkit does, and what it doesn't

I'd rather you know exactly what you're getting before you pop your email in.

It can

  • Run in any browser on your phone, tablet or laptop
  • Save your tracker automatically on the device you use
  • Copy your tracker into a spreadsheet whenever you like
  • Write your agreement and invoice from the details you type in

It can't

  • Sync between devices, so pick one phone or laptop to use it on
  • Teach you how to land the deal, which is what I teach inside The Soft Hustle Method
  • Save straight to PDF on every phone, so copy into a Google Doc instead
  • Give legal advice, so read and edit the agreement before you send it
where this fits

The toolkit gives you the tools. The Soft Hustle Method teaches you how to land the deal.

When I look back at my first year of brand deals, the tools were the easy part. What took me years to learn was how to get a brand to say yes: what to put in my portfolio, what to charge, what to write when a brand replied, how to film a video that sells, and how to turn one deal into a brand that books me every month.

This toolkit helps you pitch, keep track of every conversation and send a proper invoice. Everything that happens in between, from building your portfolio to closing the deal and getting rebooked, is what I teach step by step inside The Soft Hustle Method, my twelve-month membership.

who made this

Hi, I'm Tamsyn

I've been working with brands for eight years, and I've worked on over a hundred brand deals in that time. I started out sharing recipes online, the brands found me, and then I learned to go out and pitch them myself.

When I went back to UGC nine months after my baby was born, I rebuilt the way I work so it fits around motherhood. That became The Soft Hustle Method, my membership for women building a UGC business from their first deal to consistent $10k months. This toolkit is where I'd start if I were landing my first deal today.
