Everything you need to land your first deal, in the order you'll use it
This is the paperwork and the systems I didn't have when I started pitching brands. Work through it in this order, and keep this page bookmarked, because your deal tracker lives here.
Bookmark this page first
Everything you add to your deal tracker saves to this browser on this device, so bookmark this page now and always open it from that bookmark. On a phone, use "Add to Home Screen" so it sits with your apps. If you open it on a different phone or laptop, your deals won't be there.
Build a list of ten brands
Start with the brands already in your bathroom cabinet and pantry, then add from the 30 brands to pitch. Press "Add to tracker" on each one so it lands in your deal tracker as "To pitch".
Choose an idea for each brand
Open the 20 content ideas and match one to each brand. A pitch with a specific video idea in it gets more replies in my experience than a pitch that only says you'd love to work together.
Send the pitch
Pick a line from the 20 subject lines, personalise it, and send. Then move the brand to "Pitched" in your tracker. It sets your follow-up dates for you, three days and seven days later.
Follow up, twice
Most of my yeses have come from the follow-up, so the tracker shows you who is due each day at the top of the page. Keep each follow-up to two or three warm sentences.
Put the yes in writing
When a brand says yes, fill in the agreement, read every line, and send it. Nothing gets filmed until it comes back signed.
Get paid properly
Send a 50% deposit invoice when the agreement is signed, and the balance when you deliver. Move the deal to "Paid in full" when the money lands.
What this toolkit can do
- Track every brand you pitch, set your follow-up dates and total your deals, saved to this browser on this device.
- Add any of the 30 brands to your tracker in one tap, and copy any email address or subject line.
- Write your agreement and your invoice from the details you type in, so all you do is check them.
- Copy your whole tracker so you can paste it into Google Sheets as a backup.
What it can't do
- It can't move your deals between devices. Your phone and your laptop each keep their own tracker, so pick one and stick to it.
- It can't bring deals back if you clear your browser history or site data, so press "Copy for a spreadsheet" once a week and paste it into Google Sheets.
- It can't print or save a PDF in every browser. Press "Copy the agreement" or "Copy the invoice", paste it into a Google Doc or Word document, then choose File, then Download, then PDF.
- It can't send emails for you. Copy the address and the subject line, and send the pitch from your own email.

Every brand, every pitch, every dollar
Add each brand as you find it, move it along as the conversation moves, and the tracker works out your follow-up dates and totals. The three example rows show you how it works, and you can clear them whenever you're ready.
| Brand | Stage | Channel | Last contact | Next follow-up | Deal value |

The Brand Deal Script Library has the words for every message in this tracker, from the first pitch and both follow-ups to "your rates are too high", asking for a brief and chasing a late payment. Copy the script, add your details, and send.
Thirty brands that work with UGC creators
Six categories, five brands in each. Press "Add to tracker" on the ones that suit your niche, and they'll be waiting in your tracker with the email already filled in.
If you're not sure how to find brands that are already paying creators, or how to find the right person and the right email address to pitch, The Hot List Method walks you through it step by step, so you can build a list of 30 to 50 paying brands in an afternoon.
Subject lines that get your pitch opened
The subject line decides whether your email is opened at all, so keep it short, specific to the brand, and clear that it's about content. Copy one, then swap every bracket for the real detail.
A subject line gets your email opened, and the pitch underneath is what gets the reply. The Brand Deal Script Library has the full pitch emails, the follow-ups and the replies for when a brand answers, so you're never staring at a blank email.
Video ideas brands say yes to
Each one is a format brands already run as ads. Put one idea, written for that brand's product, into every pitch you send, and use the hook as your opening line on camera.
Once you've picked an idea, Script & Shoot, one of the five AI co-workers inside The Soft Hustle Method, writes the full script, three hooks and the shot list for it in about a minute. The Creator Studio also has the Hook Bank, the Concept Bank and a library of real UGC video examples to learn from.
Put every yes in writing
Fill in the details on the left and your agreement writes itself on the right. Copy it into a Google Doc or Word document, read every line, change anything that doesn't fit your deal, and send it to the brand to sign.
Paste it into a Google Doc or Word document, check every line, then choose File, then Download, then PDF, and send the PDF to the brand.
How I'd fill it in
- Be exact about the deliverables. Write how many videos, for which platform and how long, because a vague deliverable is where most of the arguments start later.
- Pad your timings. A common setup is 7 to 14 days for the draft, 48 hours for the brand's feedback and 3 days for the final. I always add a day or two, because babies get sick and life happens.
- Organic only, unless they pay for ads. If the brand wants to run your video as an ad, that's paid usage and it's charged on top. In my experience this is where the bigger money is.
- Deposit first. 50% on signing, 50% within 7 days of delivery, and you don't start filming until the deposit has landed.
Inside The Soft Hustle Method, Deal Closer helps you answer a real brand message live, whether they're asking for a lower rate, more revisions or usage you haven't priced, and the Rates Calculator works out your fee with usage before you reply.
An invoice that gets you paid on time
Fill in your details once and they're remembered on this device. Make a deposit invoice when the agreement is signed and a final invoice when you deliver, then copy it into a Google Doc or Word document and send it as a PDF.
Paste it into a Google Doc or Word document, then choose File, then Download, then PDF, and email the PDF to the brand.
